HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Try everything twice. On one tombstone there is this epitaph: Tried everything twice...loved it both times!
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
(keep this in mind, if you are one of those grouches;)
3. Keep learning: Learn more about the life, family, computer, crafts,
gardening, health, quality, excellence..... whatever! NEVER let the brain get idle.
"An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And one devil's name is Alzheimer's!
4. Enjoy the simple things and be Humble.
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath. And if you have a friend who makes you laugh, spend lots and lots of time with HIM/HER.
6. The tears happen: Grieve, endure, then move on. The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. LIVE while you are alive. Watch the sunrise and sunset; go to the beach and the mountains; lie on your back and look at the moon and stars; cuddle a baby in your arms, play with children... and the child in you, let the child come-out, wonder at nature, enjoy God's incredible creation and wallow unashamedly in its mystery.
7. Surround yourself with what you love.... whether it's family, children, grandchildren..... music, colors, keepsakes.... plants, hobbies, whatever.
Your home is your refuge. Share it when you can.
8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it.
If it is beyond what you can improve, get help, and, don't wait.
9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county, across the country, to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity....your mom, your dad, your wife, your husband, your children, your brother, your sister, your grandparents, your friends.
11. Forgive now those who made you cry. You might not get a second time to forgive.

Remember:
What we are,
is God's gift to us.
What we become,
is our gift to God.

Maintenance and Operating Expenses (Rental, Utilities, Supplies at Domestic

There's food for everybody 'ika nga!

suweldo kada buwan? Bawing-bawi pala ang gastos kapag naupo na!

ANG SARAP MAGING SENADOR ! ! !

PLEASE FORWARD TO AS MANY OF YOUR FRIENDS AND LET THE WHOLE COUNTRY KNOW
THAT ELECTION IS MORE OF PUTTING AMBITIOUS PEOPLE IN POSITION WHO ARE GREEDY
IN POWER, WEALTH & PRESTIGE THAN OF PUBLIC SERVICE. ANG MASAKIT PA PERA NG

PINOYS AND PINAYS...

NGAYON: Gusto mo DOVE, HENO DE PRAVIA,IVORY, etc. may matching shampoo pa
ARIEL powder soap with matching DOWNY pa para mabango

My Fellow Filipinos...

When I was small, the Philippine peso was P7 to the $dollar.
The president was Diosdado Macapagal.
Life was simple. Life was easy. My father was a farmer.
My mother kept a small sari-sari store where our neighbors bought
sang-perang asin, sang-perang bagoong, sang-perang suka,
sang-perang toyo at pahinging isang butil na bawang. Our backyard
had kamatis, kalabasa, talong, ampalaya, upo, batao, and okra.
Our silong had chicken. We had a pig, dog & cat. And of course,
we lived on the farm. During rainy season, my father caught frogs
at night which my mother made into batute (stuffed frog), or just
plain fried. During the day, he caught hito and dalag from his rice
paddies, which he would usually inihaw. During dry season, we relied
on the chickens, vegetables, bangus, tuyo, and tinapa. Every now and
then, there was pork and beef from the town market. Life was so peaceful,
so quiet, no electricity, no TV. Just the radio for Tia Dely, Roman Rapido,
Tawag ng Tanghalan and Tang-tarang-tang. And who can forget Leila
Benitez on Darigold Jamboree? On weekends, I played with my neighbors
(who were all my cousins). Tumbang-preso, taguan, piko, luksong lubid,
patintero, at iba pa. I don't know about you, but I miss those days.

These days, we face the TV, Internet, e-mail, newspaper, magazine,
grocery catalog, or drive around The peso is a staggering and incredible
P54 to the $dollar. Most people can't have fun anymore. Life has become
a battle. We live to work. Work to live. Life is not easy.

I was in Saudi Arabia in 1983. It was lonely, difficult, & scary. It didn't
matter if you were a man or a woman. You were a target for rape. The salary
was cheap & the vacation far between. If the boss didn't want you to go
on holiday, you didn't. They had your passport. Oh, and the agency charged
you almost 4months of your salary (which, if you had to borrow on a "20%
per month arrangement" meant your first year's pay was all gone before you
even earned it).

The Philippines used to be one of the most important countries in Asia. Before
& during my college days, many students from neighboring Asian countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan and China went to the Philippines to get their
diplomas. Until 1972,like President Macapagal, President Marcos was one of
the most admired presidents of the world. The Peso had kept its value of P7 to
the $dollar until I finished college. Today, the Philippines is famous as the
housemaid" capital of the world. It ranks very high as the "cheapest labor"
capital of the world, too.

We have maids in Hong Kong, laborers in Saudi Arabia, dancers in Japan,
migrants and TNTs in Australia and the US, and all sorts of other "tricky"
jobs in other parts of the globe. Quo Vadis, Pinoy? Is that a wonder or a
worry? Are you proud to be a Filipino, or does it even matter anymore? When
you see the Filipino flag and hear the Pambansang Awit, do you feel a sense
of pride or a sense of defeat & uncertainty? If only things could change for the better.......

Hang on for this is a job for Superman. Or whom do you call? Ghostbusters.
Joke. Right? This is one of our problems. We say "I love the Philippines. I am
proud to be a Filipino." When I send you a joke, you send it to everyone in
your address book even if it kills the Internet. But when I send you a note
on how to save our country & ask you to forward it, what do you do? You
chuck it in the bin.

I want to help the maids in Hong Kong. I want to help the laborers in Saudi Arabia.
I want to help the dancers in Japan. I want to help the TNTs in America and
Australia. I want to save the people of the Philippines. But I cannot do it alone.
I need your help and everyone else's. If you say you love the Philippines, prove it.
And if you don't agree with me, say something anyway. Indifference is a crime on
its own.

I am Dr. Martin Bautista

By Christian V. Esguerra
Inquirer
Last updated 03:05am (Mla time) 02/18/2007

MANILA, Philippines -- The tall man, grinning, offered handshakes to
shoppers. A total stranger, he was welcomed anyway at the Greenhills
"tiangge" in San Juan yesterday.

"I am Dr. Martin Bautista. I am running for senator under Ang Kapatiran
(The Brotherhood) party. I am not a traditional politician,"
he told curious strangers huddled around him.

"Bautista who? Ang Kapatiran what?" was the quietly polite reaction of the
shoppers. One went further and asked: "Do you have any chance of winning?"

Bautista, 44, knows only too well it's a tall order to go against a bunch
of senatorial hopefuls parading celebrity wives, prominent names and
bottomless campaign kitties.

But the gastro-enterologist would not have abandoned a lucrative medical
practice in the United States if he was not convinced of
victory, or at least a shot at it.

Bautista left for the US a year after he graduated from the University of
the Philippines in 1989. Throughout the 17 years that he spent as a
physician in New York and Oklahoma, he said he never applied for a green
card.

Last year, he came home for good, bringing with him his wife, a UP-trained
pulmonologist, and four young daughters.

Life is short

"Life is short, so better spend it by doing something good for your
country," he said in an interview at the Ang Kapatiran headquarters at
Greenmeadows in Pasig.

Ang Kapatiran (Alliance for the Common Good) is a political party put up
three years ago by Nandy Pacheco, the well-known advocate for a gunless
society. The party promotes God-centered politics and calls for the
abolition of the "pork barrel" and gambling, among other advocacies.

Aside from Bautista, the party is fielding three other candidates for
senator?Mario Ongkiko, Zosimo Paredes and Adrian Sison, who are all
lawyers.

Except for Ongkiko, who is acknowledged to be one of the country's top
lawyers, the others are unknowns in politics.

"All the pundits are saying that we won't win, but that's a defective
concept," said the 50-year-old Sison who specializes in family law and
taxation cases.

Abundance of idealism

"We're praying that the people will finally wake up and realize that there
are genuine alternatives to traditional politics and
politicians, " he said.

There's an abundance of idealism among the four candidates, including
Ongkiko who has been practicing law for the past 50 years. At 75, he
doesn't really need the prestige and clout that come with being a senator
to cement his place in the sun.

"I can earn enough to last me my lifetime. But I'm not thinking of myself.
I'm doing this for my children and my grandchildren, " he said.

So it is also with the 58-year-old Paredes who is best remembered for
publicly criticizing the transfer of an American soldier, the
convicted rapist Daniel Smith, to the custody of the US Embassy.

It cost Paredes his job as executive director of the presidential
commission monitoring the implementation of the Visiting Forces
Agreement.

Paredes clarified that he would not use the issue to land a Senate seat. He
said he had no intention of even mentioning the name of the Filipino woman
who accused the US Marine officer of raping her. "I won't mention anything
about it unless I'm asked. I didn't even know that many Filipinos
appreciated what I had done," he said.

Educating voters
Pacheco said the decision to field senatorial candidates in May was meant
in part to educate Filipino voters who have become inured to traditional
politics. "The people are truly fed up with what they see," he said. "If
[the Kapitiran candidates] win, it will be a clear sign that Filipino
voters are becoming mature," he said.

But what can three lawyers and a doctor do in the Senate? They all vow to
vigorously pursue the Kapatiran vision "to bring back
the teachings of God into the center of politics." This is the response of
Pacheco and his peers to the Second Vatican Council's idea
of an "empowered laity."

"The laity must lead in the renewing of politics," says one of the group's
leaders.

Pro-life party

The party is clearly "pro-life," is for "progressive disarmament" in the
national and international level, and regards as a priority
projects for the homeless, elderly, prisoners, disabled, veterans and the
youth.

Kapatiran is also unique in vowing to discipline members for any
wrongdoing.

Ongkiko said theirs was the only genuine political party, noting that both
the administration' s Team Unity and the Genuine Opposition were carrying
candidates who used to belong to the other side.

"There's no opposition or administration, it's just a fantasy. They don't
have a platform. All they want is to win," he said.

Paredes said the administration and opposition candidates would eventually
"cancel each other out," paving the way for Kapatiran
candidates to be noticed.

"It's like seeing a streak of white in a backdrop of black," he said.

The Kapatiran candidates are banking on the honest support of well-meaning
Filipinos to make up for their lack of political
machinery.

"We ask the people to run our campaign, to champion the cause of change,"
Ongkiko said.

No gimmicks

The party has launched a project called "Alay Panglinis Pulitika" to invite
campaign donations. It has also quietly enlisted the support of
a number of parish-based organizations, including the wide-ranging Basic
Ecclesial Communities (BECs).

Not being entitled to poll watchers, it will rely on groups like the Parish
Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting to ensure honest
elections in May and indirectly safeguard their votes.

The campaign strategy is quite different from the traditional political
gimmicks?the sunny smiles, colorful dress, catchy jingles
and celebrity endorsers?that this early are threatening to dull the taste
of Filipino voters just three days into the official campaign
period.

Ongkiko, Paredes, Sison and Bautista will basically rely on the best of
intentions and work to effectively communicate them to voters.

"We will talk sanely to the people," Paredes said.

The Holy Spirit

For Bautista, the presence of God will help in the communication job, much
like what the Holy Spirit did for St. Paul and the Apostles when they
spread the good news nearly 2,000 years ago.

Yesterday, Bautista was on a one-man campaign at the densely populated
Greenhills area. Offering nothing but flyers, a sincere greeting and a
clear legislative program, he was not shunned as just another nuisance
candidate.

It's a good start for someone who doesn't ride on the popularity of a
former president, does not sing or dance, and is not the husband of a movie
star, and is a movie star himself.

" ICE" Campaign..

Recently, the concept of "ICE" is catching up
quickly. It is simple, an important method of contact during emergency situations.

As cell phones are carried by majority of the population, all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or person who should be contacted at during emergency as "ICE" (meaning In Case of Emergency).

The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when they went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know which number to call.

He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose.

Following a disaster in London , the East Anglican Ambulance Service has launched a national "In case of Emergency (ICE)" campaign.

In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital staff would then be able to quickly contact your next of kin, by simply dialing the number stored as "ICE".

Dagohoy in States

It was the first day of school in Washington, DC and a new student named
Dagohoy, the son of a Filipino immigrant, entered the fourth grade.

The teacher began, "Let's review some American history, class. Who said 'Give me liberty or give me death?'"

She saw a sea of blank faces, except for Dagohoy's who had his hand up,"Patrick Henry, 1775."

"Very good," said the teacher.

"Who said 'Government of the people, by the people, and for the
people, shall not perish from the earth'"?

Again, no response except from Dagohoy: " Abraham Lincoln, Gettysburg, 1863," he said.

The teacher snaps at the class, "Class, you should be ashamed,
Dagohoy who is new to our country knows more about our history than you do."

She hears a loud whisper from the back: "Screw the Filipinos."
"Who said that?" she demanded.
Dagohoy put his hand up. "General John Pershing, Manila, 1896."

At that point, Jack, another student says, "I'm going to puke."
The teacher glares and asks, "All right! Now who said that?"

Again Dagohoy answers, "George Bush, Sr. to the Japanese Prime Minister during the state dinner, Tokyo, 1991."

Now furious, another student yells, "Oh yeah? Suck this!!

"Dagohoy jumps out of his chair waving his hand and shouts to the teacher at the top of his voice,

"Bill Clinton to Monica Lewinsky, the Oval Office, 1997!!"

Someone shouts, "You little shit if you say anything else, I'll kill you."

Dagohoy yells, "Congressman Gary Condit to Chandra Levy, Washington, D.C., 2001!"

The teacher faints.
"I'm outta here!" mutters one student as he sidles to the door.
"President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Baguio City, December 30,
2002!!" Dagohoy responds.

As the class gathers around her on the floor, someone says,

"Oh shit, now we're really in big trouble!"

"Saddam Hussein, on the Iraq invasion, Baghdad, May 2003!"
Dagohoy bellowed.

"Now, I really have to run," Jack mutters, heading for the exit,
"Gloria Macapagal Arroyo again, Pampanga, October 4, 2003!!!"
Dagohoy shouts triumphantly jumping with glee.

Then a burly African-American boy grabbed Dagohoy and strangled him,

about to give a fistful to a frightened Dagohoy.

Then an Asian boy stood up and shouted,
"Hey easy on him. I'M A FILIPINO!"

Dagohoy then blurted out before he got socked out,
" Fernando Poe, Jr. Manila, January 2004!!!"

Quotes from ALBERT EINSTEIN

"Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds."

People like you and I, though mortal of course like everyone else, do not grow old no matter how long we live...[We] never cease to stand like curious children before the great mystery into which we were born.

The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it.

"He who joyfully marches in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would suffice."

"The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources."

The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality.

Whoever undertakes to set himself up as judge in the field of truth and knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the Gods.

A man's ethical behavior should be based effectively on sympathy, education, and social relationships; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death.

"The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it."

Human beings, vegetables, or cosmic dust - we all dance to a mysterious tune, intoned in the distance by an invisible piper.

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

Never regard study as a duty, but as the enviable opportunity to learn to know the liberating influence of beauty in the realm of the spirit for your own personal joy and to the profit of the community to which your later work belongs.

"Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile."

Force always attracts men of low morality, and I believe it to be an invariable rule that tyrants of genius are succeeded by scoundrels.

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious."

A human being is a part of the whole, called by us ‘Universe,’ a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security.

How I wish that somewhere there existed an island for those who are wise and of goodwill! In such a place even I would be an ardent patriot.

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a persistent one.

A photograph never grows old. You and I change, people change all through the months and years, but a photograph always remains the same. How nice to look at a photograph of mother or father taken many years ago. You see them as you remember them. But as people live on, they change completely. That is why I think a photograph can be kind.

"The problems that exist in the world today cannot be solved by the level of thinking that created them."

"It is my conviction that pure mathematical construction enables us to discover the concepts and the laws connecting them, which gives us the key to the understanding of nature ... In a certain sense, therefore, I hold it true that pure thought can grasp reality, as the ancients dreamed."

"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."

To know that what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty, which our dull faculties can comprehend only in their most primitive forms this knowledge, this feeling, is at the center of true religiousness. In this sense, and in this sense only, I belong to the rank of devoutly religious men.

"When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That's relativity."

Since our inner experiences consist of reproductions and combinations of sensory impressions, the concept of a soul without a body seems to me to be empty and devoid of meaning.

"Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value."

"The hardest thing to understand in the world is the income tax."

Any power must be an enemy of mankind which enslaves the individual by terror or force, whether it arises under a facets government or communist flag. All that is valuable in human society depends upon the opportunity for development accorded to the individual.

"We should take care not to make the intellect our god; it has, of course, powerful muscles, but no personality."

"Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted."

He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, deplorable loce-of-country stance, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action! It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder.

About Bananas...

3 medium size bananas weigh approximately 1 pound.

A cluster of bananas is called a hand and consists of 10 to 20 bananas, which are known as fingers.

As bananas ripen, the starch in the fruit turns to sugar. Therefore, the riper the banana the sweeter it will taste.

Banana plants are the largest plants on earth without a woody stem. They are actually giant herbs of the same family as lilies, orchids and palms.

Bananas are a good source of vitamin C, potassium and dietary fiber.

Bananas are America's #1 fruit.

Bananas are available all year-round. They are harvested every day of the year.

Bananas are great for athletic and fitness activity because they replenish necessary carbohydrates, glycogen and body fluids burned during exercise.

Bananas are not grown commercially in the continental United States. They are grown in Latin and South America from countries like Costa Rica, Ecuador, Colombia, Honduras, Panama and Guatemala.

Bananas are one of the few fruits that ripen best off the plant. If left on the plant, the fruit splits open and the pulp has a "cottony" texture and flavor. Even in tropical growing areas, bananas for domestic consumption are cut green and stored in moist shady places to ripen slowly.

Bananas are perennial crops that are grown and harvested year-round. The banana plant does not grow from a seed but rather from a rhizome or bulb. Each fleshy bulb will sprout new shoots year after year.

Bananas have no fat, cholesterol or sodium.

Bananas were officially introduced to the American public at the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition. Each banana was wrapped in foil and sold for 10 cents. Before that time, bananas came to America on the decks of sailing ships as sailors took a few stems home after traveling in the Caribbean.

Each banana plant bears only one stem of fruit. To produce a new stem, only two shoots - known as the daughter and the granddaughter - are allowed to grow and be cultivated from the main plant.

In 1516, Friar Tomas sailed to the Caribbean bringing banana roots with him; and planted bananas in the rich, fertile soil of the tropics, thus beginning the banana's future in American life.

In 2001, there were more than 300 banana-related accidents in Britain, most involving people slipping on skins.

In Eastern Africa you can buy banana beer. This beer is brewed from bananas.

In some lands bananas were considered the principal food. Early travelers and settlers would carry the roots of the plant as they migrated to the Middle East and Africa. From there Portuguese traders carried banana roots to the Canary Islands, where bananas are still grown commercially.

In South East Asia, the banana leaf is used to wrap food (in the place of plastic bags and cling wraps), providing a unique flavor and aroma to nasi lemak and the Indian banana leaf rice.

India is by far the largest world producer of bananas, growing 16.5 million tonnes in 2002, followed by Brazil which produced 6.5 million tonnes of bananas in 2002. To the Indians, the flower from the banana tree is sacred. During religious and important ceremonies such as weddings, banana flowers are tied around the head, for they believe this will bring good luck.

Over 96% of American households purchase bananas at least once each month.

Some horticulturists suspect that the banana was the earth's first fruit. Banana plants have been in cultivation since the time of recorded history. One of the first records of bananas dates back to Alexander the Great's conquest of India where he first discovered bananas in 327 B.C.

The average American consumes over 28 pounds of bananas each year.

The banana market is controlled by five large corporations - Chiquita (25%), Dole (25%), Del Monte (15%), Noboa (11%) and Fyffes (8%). Most bananas are grown on huge plantations, controlled by these corporate giants. The remaining banana production for export comes from small banana producers.

The banana plant reaches its full height of 15 to 30 feet in about one year. The trunk of a banana plant is made of sheaths of overlapping leaves, tightly wrapped around each other like celery stalks.

The origin of bananas is traced back to the Malaysian jungles of Southeast Asia, where so many varieties and names for the banana are in that area.

The phrase 'going bananas' was first recorded in the Oxford English Dictionary, and is linked to the fruit's 'comic' connections with monkeys.

The word 'banan' is Arabic for finger.

There are more than 500 varieties of banana in the world: The most common kinds are Dwarf Cavendish, Valery, and Williams Hybrid bananas. Other types of bananas include Apple and a small red banana called the Red Jamaica. A large type of banana called the plantain is hard and starchy and is almost eaten as a cooked vegetable. The Cavendish is the most common variety of bananas now imported to the United States. The Cavendish is a shorter, stubbier plant than earlier varieties. It was developed to resist plant diseases, insects and windstorms better than its predecessors. The Cavendish fruit is of medium size, has a creamier, smooth texture, and a thinner peel than earlier varieties.

There is no such thing as a banana tree. Bananas grow on plants.

Today's commercial bananas are scientifically classified into the genus Musa of the Musaceae family.

Only The Pinoy....

Three contractors are bidding to fix the White House fence.
One from the Philippines, another from Mexico and an American.
They go with a White House official to examine the fence.

The American contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil.
"Well," he says. "I figure the job will run about $900: $400 for
materials, $400 for my crew and $100 profit for me."

The Mexican contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "I can do $700: $300 for materials, $300 for my crew and $100 profit for me."

The Filipino contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers: "$2,700."

The official, incredulous, says, " What? You didn't even measure like the other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?" How do you expect me to consider your service with that bid?

"Easy," the Pinoy explains, "$1,000 for you, $1,000 for me and we hire the guy from Mexico".

The next day, the Pinoy and the Mexican are working on the Fence.

CANCEROUS FOODS / PRODUCTS

SATAY LOVERS (BARBECUE)

If you all eat Satay, don't ever forget to eat the cucumber, because eating Satay together with carbon after barbequing can cause cancer.

But we have a cure for that... Cucumber should be eaten after we eat the Satay because Satay has carcinogen (a cancer causing element) but cucumber is anti-carcinogenic. So don't forget to eat the cucumber the next time you have Satay's.

PRAWNS (SUGPO) & VIT C

DO NOT eat shrimp / prawn if you have just taken VITAMIN C pills!!

This will cause you to DIE in ARSENIC (As) toxication within HOURS!!

PORK AWARENESS

Try this and see whether the pork you bought has worms. There goes with your "Bak Kut Teh" for those who love it. Most men love to eat this so watch out before it's too late. If you pour Coke (yes, the soda) on a slab of pork, wait a little while, you will SEE WORMS crawl out of it. A message from the Health Corporation of Singapore about the bad effects of pork consumption. Pig's bodies contain MANY TOXINS, WORM and LATENT DISEASES.

Although some of these infestations are harboured in other animals, modern veterinarians say that pigs are far MORE PREDISPOSED to these illnesses than other animals. This could be because PIGS like to SCAVENGE and will eat ANY kind of food, INCLUDING dead insects, worms, rotting carcasses, excreta including their own, garbage, and other pigs. INFLUENZA (flu) is one of the MOST famous illnesses which pigs share with humans. This illness is harboured in the LUNGS of pigs during the summer months and tends to affect pigs and human in the cooler months.

Sausage contains bits of pigs' lungs, so those who EAT pork sausage tend to SUFFER MORE during EPIDEMICS of INFLUENZA. Pig meat contains EXCESSIVE quantities of HISTAMINE and IMIDAZOLE compounds, which can lead to ITCHING and INFLAMMATION; GROWTH HORMONE which PROMOTES INFLAMMATION and growth; sulphur containing mesenchymal mucus which leads to SWELLING and deposits of MUCUS in tendons and cartilage, resulting in ATHRITIS, RHEUMATISM, etc.

Sulphur helps cause FIRM human tendons and ligaments to be replaced by the pig's soft mesenchymal tissues, and degeneration of human cartilage.

Eating pork can also lead to GALLSTONES and OBESITY, probably due to its HIGH CHOLESTEROL and SATURATED FAT content. The pig is the MAIN CARRIER of the TAENIE SOLIUM WORM, which is found in its flesh. These tapeworms are found in human intestines with greater frequency in nations where pigs are eaten. This type of tapeworm can pass through the intestines and affect many other organs, and is incurable once it reaches beyond a certain stage. One in six people in the US and Canada has RICHINOSIS from eating trichina worms, which are found in pork.

Many people have NO SYMPTOMS to warm them of this, and when they do, they resemble symptoms of many other illnesses. These worms are NOT noticed during meat inspections.

SHAMPOO

Cancer-causing substance in shampoos. Go home and check your shampoo. Change before it's too late... Check the ingredients listed on your shampoo bottle, and see they have a substance by the name of Sodium Laureth Sulfate, or simply SLS. This substance is found in most shampoos; manufacturers use it because it produces a lot of foam and it is cheap. BUT the fact is, SLS is used to scrub garage floors, and it is very strong!!! It is also proven that it can cause cancer in the long run, and this is no joke. Shampoos that contains SLS: Vo5, Palmolive, Paul Mitchell, L'Oreal, the new Hemp Shampoo from Body Shop etc. contain this substance.

The first ingredient listed (which means it is the single most prevalent ingredient) in Clairol's Herbal Essences is Sodium Laureth Sulfate. Therefore, I called one company, and I told them their product contains a substance that will cause people to have cancer. They said, Yeah we knew about it but there is nothing we can do about it because we need that substance to produce foam. By the way Colgate toothpaste also contains the same substance to produce the "bubbles". They said they are going to send me some information.

Research has shown that in the 1980s, the chance of getting cancer is 1 out of 8000 and now, in the 1990s, the chances of getting cancer is 1 out of 3, which is very serious. Therefore, I hope that you will take this seriously and pass this on to all the people you know, and hopefully, we can stop "giving" ourselves cancer-causing agents.

INSTANT NOODLES

Dear instant noodle lovers,

Make sure you break for at least 3 days after one session of instant noodles before you eat your next packet! Please read the info shared to me by a doctor. My family stopped eating instant noodles more than 5 years ago after hearing about the wax coating the noodles - the wax is not just in the Styrofoam containers but it coats the noodles. This is why the instant noodles do not stick to each other when cooking.

If one were to examine the ordinary Chinese yellow noodles in the market, one will notice that, in their uncooked state the noodles are oily. This layer of oil prevents the noodles from sticking together.

Wanton noodles in their uncooked state have been dusted with flour to prevent them sticking together. When the hawker cooks the noodles, notice he cooks them in hot water and then rinses them in cold water before cooking them in hot water again. This process is repeated several times before the noodles are ready to be served. The cooking and rinsing process prevents noodles from sticking together.

The hawker then "lowers the noodles in oil and sauce to prevent the noodles from sticking if they are to be served dry. Cooking instructions for spaghetti require oil or butter to be added in the water when boiling the spaghetti to prevent the pasta from sticking together. Otherwise, one gets a big clump of spaghetti!

There was an SBC (now TCS) actor some years ago, who at a busy time of his career had no time to cook, resorted to eating instant noodles everyday. He got cancer later on. His doctor told him about the wax in instant noodles. The doctor told him that our body will need up to 2 days to clear the wax. There was also an SIA steward who after moving out from his mother's house into his own house, did not cook but ate instant noodles almost every meal. He had cancer, and has since died from it.

Nowadays the instant noodles are referred as "cancer noodles".

People come into your life for a reason....

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometim! es they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.!

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life, whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.
